My dear people of Okpekpe Ward 10, respected elders, women, youths, friends and constituents of Etsako East,
With deep humility, a sense of duty, and an unshakable love for our people, I, Omokhagbor Sixtus, stand before you today to formally declare my expression of interest to contest for the Etsako East Constituency seat in the Edo State House of Assembly come 2027.
I do not come before you as a stranger. For over two decades, I have walked among you—not as a politician, but as a committed community servant, a mentor to our children, a voice of discipline, and a strong advocate for education, security, and dignity in Okpekpe and beyond. Many know me not by title, but by action. From the farms to the classrooms, from the town square to community forums—I have lived with you, cried with you, and risen with you.
The time has come to take our shared voice and values to the hallowed chambers of the Edo State House of Assembly—not just to speak, but to act. We must bring development closer to our people. We must make laws that reflect the realities of our communities. We must hold the government accountable to the poor farmer, the market woman, the striving student, and the forgotten village.
If elected, I will focus on five key pillars:
Education and Youth Development: I will push for investment in rural education, vocational training, and digital empowerment. Our children must be prepared for a future that demands knowledge, discipline, and innovation.
Security and Community Safety: Our farmers must return to their farmlands without fear. I will sponsor and support laws that enhance local security networks, vigilante collaborations, and community policing.
Rural Infrastructure: Good roads, healthcare centres, clean water, and electricity should no longer be a dream. Etsako East deserves a seat at the table of equitable development.
Women and Economic Empowerment: Our mothers and sisters are pillars of strength. I will champion micro-finance initiatives, cooperative schemes, and support for local businesses led by women.
Transparency and True Representation: I will maintain open lines of communication with the people—through town hall meetings, constituency reports, and grassroots engagement. This seat is not for me; it is for us.
My people, the future of Etsako East cannot be decided by those who sit afar. It must be shaped by those who live its reality. I have come—not to promise magic—but to offer sincere, tested, and people-centered leadership.
Together, let us rise from the margins to the centre of decision-making.
Together, let us give Etsako East a voice that cannot be ignored.
